Support measures extended for the last time until September 30, 2021

On Monday evening, the federal government decided to extend the current support measures for a (presumably) final time from June 30 to September 30, 2021. After the aforementioned date, it is planned to switch to more exceptional measures.

Below you will find an overview of the main measures that will be extended, for a more detailed overview we would like to refer you to our schedule.

 

Social:

  • Flexible temporary unemployment due to force majeure remains possible in all sectors
  • The double crisis bridging right for the sectors that are still closed and the bridging right due to decrease in turnover.
  • Reduction of withholding tax for temporary unemployment.
  • Supplementary incapacity benefit to reach the level of bridging allowance (for self-employed) or temporary unemployment (for employees) respectively
  • No NSSO sanctions for non-payment of monthly quarterly advances
  • Possibility of repayment plans without penalties (waiver of surcharges and interest on arrears).

 

Fiscal:

  • Individual deferral of taxes
  • Home office allowance in private: increase amount
  • Tax relief on remission of rent: extension to June, July, August and September
  • VAT reduction (6%) on hand gels and mouth masks
  • Reduction in interest indirect taxes
  • Tax shelter audiovisual works and performing arts

 

In addition to the extension of the current support measures, many sector-specific measures remain in force, including the reopening package for the hotel and catering industry dated April 21.
