Last but not least …
The enthusiastic Sharon completed her accountancy and tax law studies in Kortrijk. It was no surprise that she managed to secure an employment contract as an account manager with the Titeca team in Mouscron even before graduating.
“Veerle taught me the tricks of the accounting trade. I quickly learnt to be responsible and punctual with regard to my clients and files. I also got on the road with Emmanuel for a number of cases, which showed me how versatile this job actually is. I learnt a lot from this experience."
Sharon has gradually moved from a rather operational role to an advisory role during discussions with customers, tax inspections and the provision of advice. She has increasingly trained new employees, offered them opportunities to grow in their job and coached them in the way we do business at Titeca Accountancy. Sharon beams: "I really like sharing know-how, I love it! You can get people on board and help them grow in their job. It's great when you manage to do so and your colleagues are motivated and open to new challenges.
Always at home!
Sharon has become a fixture at Titeca Accountancy. She has witnessed the huge evolution of the company over the past 17 years. The establishment of new offices, the introduction of new operational procedures and the increase in the number of staff.
What does she like about Titeca? "The best part is the family feeling. You end up in a team of people who get along very well and support each other. You always have someone to fall back on. I feel like I am part of a family instead of a traditional employee-employer relationship. We put our backs into it together."
As team leader of the Mouscron office, she assumes responsibility to streamline the operation of the different teams at the different locations in collaboration with the other team leaders. "We strive for a uniform operation."
She feels very strongly about open communication. "Staff members have to be able to say what works, what doesn't work and what needs to be improved. This will take us the furthest. It is my ambition to have everyone think as a team and move forward as a team." This requires some effort from time to time, but she is determined. She also uses her soft power to get colleagues on board who are less open. She endeavours to get everyone involved in the team.
Always something new
She consults with the other team leaders on a monthly basis and attends the internal training courses of the SPE expertise and advice team in order to be informed about the latest news in the industry. "During these 17 years I have grown along with a number of entrepreneurs I have supported since the very beginning. This has resulted in a growing relation of trust, and it pleases me greatly that these entrepreneurs have also been successful. That's the challenging part of my job: you get confronted with all aspects of an entrepreneur's life. It always involves something new!”
Sharon is an optimistic person living life to the fullest. She has a wide circle of friends and loves eating out and having a nice glass of wine. She goes out every weekend. "I am a people person."
She also likes to burn up the dance floor with her salsa, swing, tango and cha-cha-cha moves. Pas de deux, to the music…
Sharon also has an adventurous side. She has travelled to Thailand, Mexico, ... She made a new discovery every day in her search for the true 'couleur locale'.
Last but not least, she is a sporty person and goes jogging from time to time to clear her head and recharge her batteries. Pure recreation, brains in neutral.
Steering and persevering
"I let things take their course, I take action and I see where I end up." Sharon is a go-getter. "I enjoy the little things in life; my husband and I secretly like living life to the fullest. You only have one life."
She wants to have her team evolve even further in the future. "I also keep on looking forward to the new challenges presented to me by our clients." Sharon… powered by soul power.
