On March 28, 2025, the new NACEBEL codes were implemented in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (CBE). All activities were automatically converted to the updated codes, with January 1, 2025 as the start date.
As a business owner, it is important that you check these changes and correct them if necessary.
What does this change mean?
Issue 1: Conversion to NACEBEL 2025.
All existing companies were automatically updated to the new NACEBEL 2025 codes effective Jan. 1, 2025. The codes are also no longer visible on the CBE main page of the company, but on the page of the underlying branch(s).
Why is correct code important?
- To qualify for grants, premiums or support measures.
- To avoid unnecessary administrative obligations.
- To be correctly classified by government agencies and industry organizations.
All new companies are immediately registered with the new coding.
Issue 2: Activities
A distinction is made between 3 types of activities:
- Main Activities: The economic activities that contribute the most to your business, based on the highest (estimated) annual turnover and the largest number of (estimated) full-time equivalents.
- Ancillary activities: Other economic activities that also contribute to your revenue.
- Auxiliary Activities: Activities that are only supportive and do not create economic added value.
Please note: auxiliary activities will automatically cease in the CBE on May 8, 2025.
What has changed?
Since the introduction of the new codes, stricter criteria have been established for classifying activities. From now on, when establishment units only effectively performed activities still recorded become. Plans for future activities are no longer allowed in the CBE.
In addition, the following restrictions were also imposed on new businesses:
- Max. 5 main activities per establishment unit.
- Max. 20 ancillary activities per establishment unit.
- Auxiliary activities are no longer enrolled.
What action should you take?
Although the conversion was automatic, the codes assigned may not quite match the reality within your company. Check so sure if the converted codes were implemented correctly.
