You combine accounting expertise with data analysis and automation to systematically improve digital processing workflows. You ensure that documents are not only processed, but that the underlying workflow is logical, consistent, and as automated as possible.
What does your day as a data manager look like:
In this role, you don’t work on an invoice-by-invoice basis; instead, you focus on the processes behind the bookkeeping. You analyze the document flow, identify patterns among suppliers, industries, and journal entry proposals, and translate those insights into structural improvements. You determine when automation rules are appropriate, ensure they remain consistent and maintainable, and use data to identify areas where processing can be improved, made more accurate, or made more efficient. In doing so, you combine accounting expertise with logical thinking, data analysis, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with colleagues on the data team and coordinate with relevant teams to make digital processing as scalable, reliable, and future-proof as possible.
Specifically, this means:
- You analyze how the document workflow operates and identify where automation is failing or could be improved.
- You identify patterns at the supplier, industry, and project levels and translate them into structural improvements.
- You determine when booking or bot rules are appropriate, ensure that they remain consistent, logical, and maintainable, and continuously optimize them.
- You identify recurring errors, missing agreements, or inefficient exceptions, and investigate the underlying cause.
- You will help ensure consistent processing across cases, offices, and sectors.
- You document agreements and share insights with colleagues so that operations remain clear, transferable, and scalable.
- You use Excel, Power BI, and operational metrics to gather insights, set priorities, and track improvement initiatives.
- You actively contribute ideas on how to make digital processes smarter, more accurate, and more efficient.

You enjoy using Excel and don’t see formulas as a burden, but rather as a way to arrive at the right insights more quickly. Experience with Power BI is a plus, but what matters most is your willingness to learn more about it. - Basic Accounting and Insight
You don’t need to be a traditional accountant, but you understand—or are willing to understand—how accounting processes are logically structured. You’re familiar with the basics of a balance sheet and income statement and can translate accounting principles into clear, consistent, and maintainable automation logic. Your focus, therefore, is not on financial closings or tax analyses, but on setting up the accounting process in a smart and accurate way. - Critical and solution-oriented
